Lets Not Forget

Let’s not forget how we came to have what we have. The mere fact that we can sit and squabble over such things as whether or not to fund Planned Parenthood is a testament to the freedom and security we enjoy.

Countless American soldiers have given their lives over the last 240 years or so to preserve the United States as a bastion of freedom that the rest of the world still strives to emulate, whatever you might hear in the political rumblings of the day. Never before has such awesome power been so concentrated and not used for conquest or domination, but so often for good. We are not completely untarnished but no one expects that of anyone or anything. We surely could have conquered. The might of free men and women is nearly indistinguishable from the wrath of God, yet often times that might has been directed to protect others, not gain more for ourselves.

Don’t forget the ones who made their last trip home covered in a flag. Don’t forget that they died not for a country, but for a nation of sovereign individuals, because that is what America really is, a place where the individual is considered sovereign. If you forget that, than so many have died for no reason.

Individual sovereignty, keep it close, never give it up, and remember those who have stood and still stand to defend your right to it, if necessary to their death, so you never have to.

“A veteran is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to ‘The People of the United States of America  ‘ for an amount of ‘up to and including my life.’”
